What We Do

Our chartered engineers offer the full range of design, installation, commissioning and maintenance in all aspects of building services.

Our experience and expertise has given us an excellent reputation for delivering projects from small installations to large multi-service projects, from both full refurbishments and entirely new builds, to strict time and budget restraints.

The Metromec team is comprised of highly trained, fully qualified and exceptionally motivated members. This means we can provide innovation, and the latest technological and design solutions to every project we take on.

We offer our services to design, install and commission all areas of mechanical services: hot and cold services, ventilation, drainage and all associated controls. We operate to strict time and budget restraints and provide our services from small installations to large multi-service projects, both refurbishments and new build.

We are members of the National Association of Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical Services Contractors, which is the premier trade association within the industry. Membership of the association calls for the highest standards of competence, workmanship and reliable service in order to abide by the industry's Code of Fair Trading.

We offer the full range of mechanical services installations including but not limited to the following:

  • Services design
  • Air conditioning
  • Hot and cold services
  • Ventilation
  • Drainage and all associated controls
  • Heating and plumbing

Metromec are authorised to supply, install and maintain all major manufacturer's equipment. We provide a full installation service from small domestic and light commercial systems to major complex Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) projects within the industrial and commercial sectors.

We tailor our proposals to meet the client's needs and will discuss and present any alternative solutions in order to inform the client of all options available. Highlighting the merits and potential issues of each one.

On completion of each project we ensure the client is aware of the operation of each item of equipment and provide a simple, easy to follow, guide for the correct operation and use.

Our chartered electrical engineers provide our clients either with a comprehensive design, development, installation and maintenance package, or you may only with to engage one of these modules. The provision of quality and technical excellence is what drives our highly-skilled teams. All of our team members are trained to the highest standards and are encouraged to use their initiative and their expert training to provide our clients with a service they can rely on.

Our proactive approach to creating a genuine, professional working relationship between client, project manager and supporting staff enables us to ensure that works and services are completed to exceptionally high standards from the initial tender, all the way to project completion and beyond.

We offer the full range of electrical services design and installations, including but not limited to the following:

  • Services design
  • Main power and distribution
  • Access, security and fire alarms
  • Small power and lighting
  • Data cabling

The key to a successful project is delivering the utmost in quality design with careful co-ordination of building services and integration with the building structure and fabric. Continuously focusing on the client's specification and the objectives for the completed project.

We carefully discuss and assess our client's requirements to ensure the content of our design meets with their budget and building restraints. To ensure the final result will prove the best tailored and value engineered system, our fully qualified, experienced designers use the latest computer aided design and drafting software to produce fully coordinated drawings.

We provide a co-ordinated mechanical and electrical building services package offering, in effect, a 'one stop shop', which makes use of our extensive integrated expertise and gives our clients many on-going benefits.

Significantly, we provide competitive prices to carry out the design, supply and installation of both mechanical and electrical services in-house. This helps to provide a higher degree of cost certainty when evaluating the services on any relevant project.

Our close control between the project managers and supporting staff, from tender to practical completion, ensures the services are completed to a high standard and with the minimum of risk.

The provision of combined in-house Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services helps to ensure the following:

  • No disputes or claims between disciplines for clients to contend with and the loss of monetary and opportunity costs
  • Reduction in management costs in ensuring the flow of information between M&E sub-contractors services is adhered to
  • Close liaison between design and project teams to complete the project on time and to a high quality of service and finish
  • Close liaison between surveying departments to ensure the project is completed within the cost plan
  • The ability to asses both M&E tenders and to purchase on an either/or basis
  • One point of contact for all M&E services, both during the project and after practical completion.

We explain the plan in detail with any options on maintenance strategy, administration and monitory. The maintenance contracts we offer clients:

Our Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract provides our clients with trusted engineers to carry our maintenance tasks to an agreed annual cost. As we feel this provides a cost effective solution for our clients.

We also operate and offer maintenance contracts on the following basis:

  • Inspection and Maintenance Fixed-Sum

Agreements where our engineers attend site and inspect the equipment to confirm it is functioning correctly. Minor routine maintenance such as filter condition checks etc are carried out on site at that time. Repairs are carried out at an agreed additional cost.

  • Call-out only

Cost of engineer's attendance and materials is charged at an agreed rate. Response time is agreed, together with minimum call-out costs - making our service efficient and cost effective for our clients.

  • Fully Comprehensive Contracts Fixed-sum agreements

For the provision of labour and materials to maintain mechanical equipment and services that cover the replacement of all parts which have failed within the contract term.

  • Comprehensive

This is also a fixed-sum agreement for the provision of labour and materials. However, the value of work is limited to an agreed sum. This reduces the risk to us, and therefore the cost to the client.

Our service manager software ensures that planned maintenance is efficiently organised and each current or outstanding job is monitored through satisfactory completion. Our fully qualified engineers ensure you receive the best service. We are constantly updating our knowledge in order to advise our clients of the latest regulations and to ensure our engineers continue to provide a guaranteed service.

At Metromec, we offer a full routine service and planned preventative maintenance programme for all buildings of all ages. We maintain plant equipment that we have installed on our completed projects and on projects carried out by others, with fully qualified engineers undertaking the work.

We tailor our service to ensure the equipment warranty is upheld, where applicable, and to accommodate any client requirements with regards to limited access and downtime of any equipment.

We ensure the quality of our work on site and the associated administration is of the highest level, providing a first class service throughout the life-span of all contracts.
